Follow up on the Middle Country Road Renaissance Master Plan has been painfully slow. In meeting after meeting we have asked our Town Representatives to use the $100,000 they dedicated over two years ago. At a meeting with Councilman Tullo we again requested that the $100,000 be dedicated to the following high priority items. We agreed that the town should immediately concentrate on the following:

a. Economic analysis
b. Environmental studies,
c. Transportation studies,
d. Impact on public facilities.
e. An Architectural Design Survey

It has taken two years for the town to complete a very basic step in the master plan process, an inventory of existing uses. That's too long. To move this project along the town must be willing to hire outside consultants. It's planning staff is currently inundated with the creation of new codes, the Mastic Shirley Project, and a tremendous number of building applications. We want action and action now!

Action needed: Town Board attendance -or Write, fax or call: Supervisor LaValle and Councilman Tullo. Tell them we need to access the $100,000 dedicated to the MCRRP for priority items listed above. Central Brookhaven is tired of being forgotten. With your help we will be forgotten no more. Speak up for your community!!
